    Mintie’s new ECU4 is the next generation of the industry-leading ECU product line that redefines protection with reliability and ease of use. The ECU4 features YKK #10 resin zippers, repositioned set up / release pins, upgraded internal operational springs, enhanced ball-bearing wheel assembly and wheels, double reinforced nylon floor, and reduced short side width to allow entrance to all selected rooms and areas.

    Description

    Mintie Technologies proudly announces a new, expanded line of HEPA-filtered air purification systems designed to meet your construction, infection control and bio-security needs. At Mintie Technologies, we understand the critical nature of controlling airborne contaminants and the need for reliable, durable, and compact negative air machines to help accomplish this task. With this in mind, we broadened our product line to meet your various clean air needs.

    Mintie’s patented products are equipped with HEPA filtered air purification systems designed to meet regulations and client’s demand for cleaner and healthier environments. Each air filtration system is equipped with a medical grade, aluminum frame, HEPA filter element. These negative air machines (NAM) come in a variety of sizes and are reliable, durable and compact.

    With proper engineering analysis, they can be used to convert and establish larger specially designated areas such as Emergency Departments, Gymnasiums, Community Centers, Meeting Rooms or other suitable indoor areas via positioning ECUs at all points of ingress and egress.

    This may be achieved with the ECU Anteroom or ECU Containment Unit being positioned in the corridor outside the room/area to be converted.

    The only engineering requirement is that the return air or exhaust vents in the spaces be blocked off or disabled, and the sealing flange of the unit be securely fastened to the doorway using tape or Velcro.

    When a HEPA NAM fitted with a 99.99% or 99.97% efficiency filter that can generate a minimum of 300 CFM is paired with and attached to the ECU unit, an anteroom airlock is created which prevents any re-circulation of harmful airborne pathogens into other spaces.

    Both of these HEPA filters are rated to capture airborne particulate matter down to 3microns in size. Using this configuration, air will be exhausted from the area being isolated into the ECU HEPA filtration unit and safely re-circulated into the abutting space.

    It is extremely important that all HEPA filtered negative air equipment be thoroughly inspected and tested prior to use and following re-use to ensure both filter and operational integrity, and proper installation. After the inspection is performed, the HEPA filtered air may be safely re-circulated back into adjacent spaces of the facility.

    The ECU4 Corridor Flange enables the ECU4 to function as a portable anteroom/airlock with a HEPA filtered negative air machine. By setting up directly in the corridor, the ECU4 makes use of the available space to create a large isolation area. The corridor flange seals the entryway of a hallway or ward.

    This prevents direct air exchange between the isolated area and general population without any building modifications. If the demand for additional isolation capacity increases, the ECU4 with the corridor flange can be quickly redeployed to increase the immediate isolation area.

    During any pandemic such as a coronavirus or bioterrorism event, large numbers of people often present themselves to a healthcare facility Emergency Department, compelling the need for additional surge capacity through converting larger area into airborne mass isolation spaces.

    A Mintie corridor flange is a specialized product of up to 10’-6” in height and up to 10’-0” in width designed to flexibly increase containment areas by means of separating parts of buildings or units in other areas, without requiring permanent building modifications.

    This product is generally used in modular configuration, and when paired with the appropriate Mintie ECU equipment becomes a scalable solution that provides for airborne isolation of entire corridors and wings.

    Should the number of people in these surge capacity situations increase, the ECU and the corridor flange provides a simple and rapid means of expanding the isolated space that will permit additional rooms and spaces to be included behind the airlock.

    A crucial benefit of the ECU mass isolation solution is the ability and ease to allow the movement of patients, staff and others, in addition to equipment and supplies in and out without exposing a non-isolation area to potential infectious airborne contaminants.
