ICRA Precautions by Class
Class 1: Minimize raising dust from construction operations. Class 2: Provide active means to prevent airborne dust from dispersing. Class 3*(includes visualinspection nearat risk patients): Complete all critical barriers i.e. sheetrock, plywood, plastic, to seal area from non-work area. ICRA Compliance Procedures*
- Define scope of work, schedule and location
- Conduct ICRA or request from approved healthcare facility staff member
- Review infection control strategies for work and clean-up with Infection Control Practitioner and Facilities Project Manager
- Request permit stating project details and required ICRA precautions
- Review precautions with workers, check for understanding of risk and liability
- ICRA training may be required before facility issues employee badges
- Display permit in ECU-CC permit pouch
- Request ICRA reevaluation and permit update for any changes in scope
- Inspect barriers and other precautions after use or at least daily for integrity
- Check flutter strip and NAM gauges to ensure proper functioning
- Replace HEPA and pre-filters as necessary
- Maintain activity log of inspections and maintenance
- Follow facility approved procedure for worker clean-up and debris disposal
- Disinfect ECU-CC envelope after use with standard facility cleaning agent
